Mission & Vision
The Garden State Association of Black Journalists Inc., GSABJ, exists
to unite African-Americans in New Jersey dedicated to the promotion of
equal opportunity, truth and professional excellence in the fields of
print and broadcast journalism.
GSABJ also exists:
- To provide the African-American community with professional insight
into media coverage and operations,
- To serve as role models and mentors to students interested in
media-related careers,
- To increase the presence and support the career development of
African-American media professionals and,
- To create and fund a scholarship to be awarded annually to eligible
African-American students pursuing media-related degrees,
- To ensure fair and accurate representation of African American in
media coverage and
- To foster relationships between African-Americans in mainstream and
black-owned media.
