GSABJ announces winners for 2007 awards
SHREWSBURY – The Garden State Association of Black Journalists
announced today the winners of the 2007 Journalism awards contest.
The Star-Ledger of Newark led the way with five winners in the print
categories and the Record of Hackensack had the second-most winners
with two. The Asbury Park Press in Neptune and the Jersey Journal in
Jersey City each had an individual winner.
News 12 New Jersey in Edison swept the television categories and the
Trentonian’s
L.A. Parker was selected as GSABJ’s Journalist of the Year.
“This year’s entries strongly exemplified well-written and well-produced
stories about the lives of African-Americans living in New Jersey,” said
GSABJ president Sherlon Christie, a sports reporter at the Asbury Park Press
in Neptune.
