GSABJ Mission

GSABJ exists to unite African-Americans in New Jersey dedicated to the promotion of equal opportunity, truth and professional excellence in the fields of print and broadcast journalism.  In addition the organization exists to:

• Provide the African-American community with professional insight into media coverage and operations
• Serve as role models and mentors to students interest in media-related careers
• Increase the presence and support the career development of African-American media professionals
• Create and fund a scholarship to be awarded annually to eligible students pursuing media-related degrees
• Insure fair and accurate representation of African Americans in media coverage
• Foster relationships between African Americans in mainstream and black-owned media
